It's a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its unique karst landforms. There, you can see amazing limestone formations in various shapes, like a forest of stone pillars created by nature over millions of years. It's not only a natural wonder but also a place to experience the rich culture of the Yi ethnic group.

Day3, 20Sep25: Kunming → Dali

🚄Kunming → Dali (2 hours by high-speed rail)

Yunnan is a province surrounded by mountains, and the speed of high-speed rail is usually only 200~250km per hour. Once upon a time, its transportation was very inconvenient, and it was located in the border areas, so it was also one of the poorest provinces in China.

Dali Ancient Town in Yunnan, China, is a must - visit destination. Nestled against the Cangshan Mountains and facing Erhai Lake, it boasts a history of over 600 years. Wander through its cobblestone streets and you'll see well - preserved Bai ethnic architecture, with traditional houses featuring delicate carvings and colorful decorations. The town is a vibrant blend of ancient and modern; you can explore historical temples and museums, and also enjoy local cuisine like roasted乳扇 (roasted milk fan) and shop for unique handicrafts. ✅Visit Donglianhua Village (Muslim Village)

Weishan, an autonomous county of Yi and Hui(Muslim) ethnic groups, is located in the south of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It has a long history and was the birthplace of the Nanzhao Kingdom. The ancient city of Weishan, built in the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty(600years ago), has well-preserved ancient architectures and a unique layout of streets and alleys. It is not only a famous historical and cultural city in China but also a crucial stop on the Ancient Tea-Horse Road. Weishan is also renowned for its rich folk culture and delicious local cuisine. It's really a place full of charm and worthy of a visit.

Lijiang Ancient City, a world-renowned heritage site, is located in Lijiang City, Yunnan Province. It was built in the late Song and early Yuan dynasties and flourished in the Ming and Qing dynasties. The city features unique Naxi ethnic architecture, with wooden houses and cobblestone streets. The well-preserved water system creates a beautiful landscape of "streams flowing through every household and willows hanging over every door".

Day 6, 23Sep25: Lijiang

🏔Jade Dragon Snow Mountain

a magnificent snow-capped mountain range in the Hengduan Mountains. With 13 snow-capped peaks stretching continuously, it looks like a giant dragon soaring in the sky, so it is called "Jade Dragon". The main peak, Shanzidou, stands at an altitude of 5,596 meters. It is not only a wonder of nature with glaciers, alpine lakes and diverse vegetation, but also a sacred mountain in the hearts of the Naxi and Tibetan people, carrying rich cultural connotations.

Day 7, 24sep25: Lijiang→ Shangri-La (area)

🚌Lijiang→Tiger Leaping Gorge (2 hours drive)

Tiger Leaping Gorge is a world-famous canyon where the Jinsha River rushes between Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (5,596m) and Haba Snow Mountain (5,396m) in Yunnan. It’s named after a huge rock in the river where a tiger was said to leap across. The gorge is about 18 km long, with the deepest point reaching 3,790m from the river to the mountain peak. The narrowest section is only 30m wide, and the river flows at high speed, creating dramatic rapids. A popular hiking trail here offers stunning views of the steep cliffs and alpine landscape.
